The oldest child was having a birthday party and there were 10 children in all. I originally decided to give each child three party favours but when I divided the number of party favours I have by three there was one left over. That's wouldn't work, so I decided to divide by four and I had two left over. By dividing by five I had three left over and when I got to six I had four left over. I finally decided to count the party favours and I worked out that if I added just two more, each child would get the same amount. How many party favours did I start out with?
There were originally 58 party favours.
