Last week I was watering my garden and taking heed of the advice from the seed growers association I was to water my tomatoes with exactly 1 litre of water per day. I only had a 5 litre and a 3 litre container. How was I expected to measure exactly 1 litre?
I filled the 3 litre container and poured it into the 5 litre container. I then refilled the 3 litre container and poured it into the 5 litre container. As there was only two litres of water that would now fit into the 5 litre container, I had exactly one litre of water left in the 3 litre container.
